Outreach and Communication

A wide range of stakeholders are involved in the study process.  First, to ensure that the study results would be the most useful to communities, agencies and the traveling public, SCAG asked advice of local public agencies, business and community leaders, and academic experts.  SCAG also conducted an initial round of public outreach through a survey and focus groups to gauge public knowledge, what is important to people, what factors play into their travel decisions, and their opinion on various ideas being considered.

Currently, SCAG is working with a steering committee comprised of these representatives to ensure that the study stays on track and meets expectations.  SCAG is also working with local transportation agencies in the six-county region and neighboring San Diego County to make sure that we provide meaningful analysis and information and use the most appropriate communications channels to convey our process and findings.

The public will be informed throughout the study process through newsletter articles, website information and an informational brochure.
