Application to the 2012 Regional Transportation Plan

170x337 image

The Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) is updated every four years to provide a regional investment framework for the region's transportation and related challenges.  The RTP looks to strategies that preserve and enhance the existing intermodal transportation system and integrates land use decisions with transportation planning.

The 2008 RTP identified congestion pricing as an approach to be considered in future RTP's; the 2012 RTP is intended to be the vehicle that begins to incorporate specific pricing techniques and projects into SCAG's planning and funding processes.  The process of integrating pricing into the RTP will be under way early in 2011 and will continue in close cooperation with the Express Travel Choices study until the RTP is adopted.
